Night World is a series of nine young-adult fiction novels written by L. J. Smith. The series takes place in a world similar to our own but one where vampires, witches, werewolves and shape-shifters live among humans without their knowledge. These supernatural races make up a secret society known as the Night World, which enforces two fundamental laws to prevent discovery: 1) Never allow humans to gain knowledge of the Night World's existence and, 2) Never fall in love with one of them.
I suggest you read them in order, because each book refers back in some way to books in the past. Like in Soulmate, a bunch of characters are introduced more, in the Circle Daybreak. Plus the Soulmate Principle is reawakening, plus in the 4 last books are talking about a Wild Power.
Plus the very last one, yet to be published: Strange Fate tells about the Wild Powers coming together as one, as well showing us the very last Wild Power. Since there's four. It's a dramatic ending to the series.
