"Ve--" Javid started, but pulled himself from calling her back.
"I-- You musn't tell anyone about this." Zannen said "I'm a girl."

Venus heard Javid begin to call her name and half turned around to look at him. She caught his eye for a minute before looking down, her eyes grey, and she hurried away. Blinking back tears. [/blockquote]

Javid looked at his shoes. Why'd it have to be like this?

Raven walked into the ball room, in a very black, very goth dress. She was, obviously, pounded with thoughts but she was used to it. Thought two of the minds were getting on her nerves, Javid and Venus. Man they had fallen for each other bad. She had been listening to their thoughts for days and it was really starting to get on her nerves. She spotted Javid first and walked over to him, her high tops making no sound. "Just go talk to her. I can't take your thoughts anymore... there are enough depressing thoughts out there without having to listen to you two cry over each other!" She knew that he was a teacher but since when had Raven respected authority? [/blockquote]

Miracle gasped. "No way..." Zannen nodded. "You always were kind of queer, but I never would of thought..." She combed her fingers through her light hair, twisting it into over-lapping braids.

"Look, I have my reasons for pretending to be a guy." Zannen said, then pulled his key from under his shirt. The gleeming pink stones, perfectly immatating petals of a flower were glinting as if winking evily.
Javid turned, and screamed through his mind at Raven SHUT UP!!!

"No, because, like I said before, I don't want to have to listen to both of your depressed thoughts. And you call me emo..." She muttered the last part under her breath. "Now this is the one nice thing I ever plan on doing... so go and talk to her! You don't have to talk in front of people, just go over to her tell her you want to talk and do your little stop time thingy. Then boom, you can talk for as long as you want." [/blockquote]

"Who are you? For real, though. Who else knows? Why can't you not tell me why you decided to be a guy?" Miracle's questions erupted from her. Zannen looked liked he was uncomferatlable with answering, so Miracle slowed down. "Who are you, really?"

"I'm a human cursed to live and die a painful death until I can find the lock to this key. No one knows. Apart from probably Raven, though I try not to think about it much." Zannen said in answer quietly. He swung the key around so his eyes had something to follow besides hers.
Didn't I tell you to shut up? My life's mine for a reason. Javid thought pointedly.

(doesn't intwine have the match?) Miracle stared at the key."Wait a second...Intwine has a strange lock, too!" She pointed to the lock tied to a wristband. "He never lets me touch it. He says it's important." Intwine blinked his eyes open to see the two people stare at him.

(Yep ^.^ But it won't break the curse 'cuz Aika and Intwine aren't in love so they can't turn the key. And Intwine's is a lock.) Zannen stared at Intwine and Miracle, then growled "Rose, you were being an idiot again. You shouldn't have given it to him I mean he's..." (They look like this; )

Loki sighed. His warm breath scorched through the cold Autumn air and as he stepped into the ballroom it became warmer than it had been. He leaned against a wall to wait for Lillian, refusing at least three offers to dance.

Lillian sighed, calming herself down. She'd never really enjoyed crowds of people or modern music that hurt her ears, which just happened to be the two major components of dances. This was her first in a couple years - the shapeshifter had preferred to skip the rest of the dances, and now she was slightly regretting it. What am I supposed to do there??! Lillian thought, fighting the panic that was beginning to rise up her throat. Last time was awkward enough, and now I actually have a date. The latter half of that thought still hadn't settled comfortably in Lillian's mind, stubbornly fluttering around in abstract air that was hard to grasp. And what if I don't know how to ballroom-dance? I've seen others, but never actually tried it... The Capricorna president lingered at the doorway, then with a final glance at the clock, opened the door and walked slowly down the hall towards the stairwell.
Lights dazzled Lillian's blue-green eyes as she entered the ballroom, the edge of her matching aqua dress stirring in the breeze created by the movement of people. It was dark, but drifting bright orange lights shone out from the shadows, and paper bats flew up overhead enchanted by some sort of magic. An invisible owl hooted from a corner, and a witch's laugh cackled in the distance. Glancing around, the shifter looked for Loki in the mass of people. She spotted him leaning against the wall on the opposite side of the ball room, and began to make her way towards him. Nervousness made Lillian self-conscious, suddenly aware of her turquoise dress, half-uncovered arms, the sea-glass beads braided sparsely in her loose hair, but especially the simple pendant hanging around her neck. The emerald, the only stone or adornment on the necklace, pressed gently on her scar that she tried so hard to hide. It was a pale spot, the size of a hole in a three-hole-punched paper and her constant reminder of her death. It burned now, hot under the cool weight of the gem and arousing the butterflies that had been resting fitfully in the shifter's stomach.
Relax. Lillian told herself, but disobeyed the command once Loki looked around and caught her eye. A jolt of excitement and nervousness shot through her, and she offered a shaky but genuine smile. "Hi, Loki." she said.

The warmth in Loki's area skyrocketed with the smile he sent back at Lillian "Hi Lili!"

"Sorry if I'm a little late." Lillian said, not sure of how to strike up a conversation. She realized too late that people normally backed up that statement with some sort of an excuse, but there was no way she would admit that she had been hesitant and a little scared to come. The shifter decided she'd let Loki initiate whatever they were going to do, so she might have a little less to trip over and embarrass herself.
