~Zera~
"Chronicle..." Zera gentley tapped her bedroom door. He was planning to take her out for dinner on the dock.

~Chronicle~
The blonde girl shook her head, sighing in relief at the knock on the door. The paperwork for being president was really piling up between dealing with Rama and Zera. She stood and moved to the door, a few shadows trailing affectionately after her. A blush tinged Chronicle's cheeks as she opened the door and found him standing there in front of her. "Hey." She smiled, beckoning his entrance.

~Zera~
"Nice to see you." He said. Chronnicle laughed faintly. "Such a gentlemen."
Zera smiled, and looked at his feet nervously. "So....I was wondering....do you want to have dinner out on the dock with me? I mean..it wouldnt be romantic or anything, just like..uh.. two freinds..."
I wish it could be more than that... The angel summoner's amber eyes blazed at the thought. This is all Rama's fault.... If he hadnt made that pact with Avira... Then mabey Chronicle would have a chance at a life... A long, happy life with me.

"Yes." It was all that could escape Chronicle's throat. The mark on her inner arm burned, and she just couldn't seem to shake off the feeling of needing something. She stepped forward, and lightly touched her lips to Zera's. "Friends?" She muttered, "Even if it can't be called true love, I still like you."

"I like you to." He smiled, and kissed her back.
As the two walked through the many halls of the castle, hand in hand, Zera felt sort of smug. Chronicle was his, for at least a little while. "You know how this is going to end." Jango's angelic voice echoed around him. "If you don't let her go now, no one will be able to save you from the pain soon to come."
"I'm not saying 'SOS' Jango." Zera whispered. Chronicle looked up at him, her beautiful eyes sparkling. "What?" she asked. Zera just shook his head, and pushed the castle door open.
"Here it is." Zera and Chronicle walked down the long dock, to the very tip. A quilt was spread over the wooden planks, a small basket in the middle. Above their heads, the moon and stars glowed, casting down silver light to earth.

"You're such a dork." Chronicle smiled fondly, being entirely positive. Her eyes scanned out across the water, smiling wider with the shadow as she sat down without taking her eyes from the rippling lake.

Zera sat, and put his arm around Chronicle. "Ya, mabey I am a dork." He laughed.

"Hey, Angel-boy... you wanna see a demonstration before dinner?" Chronicle knew Zera'd only seen her magic once, but she didn't realize how suggestive that question could be taken. As long as Zera didn't take her that way(she was pretty sure he thought both of them were pretty innocent) it would be okay. Her eyes didn't leave the water.

The shadow tamer rolled up her sleeves, then twitched her fingers upwards from position with her hands over the water. The shadows bounced upward with the movement, and then Chronicle pulled them from the water, leaving only a glowing circle with only ragged edges to show the fact that there were ripples in the water. She held up her hands, waving them slightly and moving the darkness in streams around her.

Zera couldn't help but feel uneasy, as shadows twirled around Chronicle. The shadows grew thicker, and thicker. Darker, and darker. Its not possible for a black object to get...blacker.
But it seamed that they were. Chronicle was becoming hard too see through the twirling mass. "Uh..Chronicle...?"

"I'm fine, I've totally got these things under my control." Chronicle's laugh chimed out, as she began to dance with the shadows. The shadows began to twirl in a unison a little to close to her own, but the shadow tamer didn't notice, it really was her element.

"Please... please just be careful " Zera warned. He was starting to feel uncomfortable around all of these shadows. They made him feel sad. The wind started to pick up. As his brown hair blew wildly, he eyed the moon with half interest. It looked beautiful, like a-... A dark cloud suddenly covered the moon. Now he was really starting to feel depressed.
"Chronicle, please stop." He whispered.

"B-but Zera, I've got this under control... see?" Chronicle demonstrated a few swift flicks of the shadow, that it wasn't reluctant to obey but still seemed just the slightest bit reluctant. She turned it to spin in the air, singing something like "See, it's all under control. I'm a-okay." And then she collapsed under the extreme weight the darkness had been holding up and away from her.

The shadows swarmed over Chronicle's body, crushing her. Zera lunged towards her twitching body, but the shadows repelled him. A low laugh sounded from the darkness beyond the lake. Avira.
"No!!" he screamed. Zera's eyes blazed like flame. Again, and again, and again, he threw himself against the shadows. But again and again and again they didn't budge...
